As it turns out, my wife found out a few months ago that she is gluten intolerant. She has made due with most foods. She was never a big bread eater, there are flour substitutes for say cookies and pies. But, what really gets her goat with this new revelation and new gluten free lifestyle is the inability to have a nice cold beer. So here in lies my quest.
I have been brewing at home for about a year and a half. To date we have been brewing all our beers from kits. Some ordered from online and/or bought from our local home brew supply store. One of these kits it a gluten free beer kit. It's currently carbonating in bottles and will be ready for tasting in a little less than two weeks.
I could leave it at that, the one gluten free beer kit that possibly exists. I could also just leave it at Anheuser-Busch's Red Bridge, a gluten free beer which is just palteable if served at a cold 20*F. Supposedly and I have read about, there are other gluten free beers, but they are nowhere to be found.
I accept the challenge. I will make a flavorful full bodied beer with great taste and it will be gluten free.
